Tara Paccillo and I began our journey together as professional peers and friends long before the idea of MMI was born. We have spent many hours throughout the years, in many different conversations, discussing several aspects of what it means to be an LMT in the 21st century.

Okay. Let’s scale it back a bit, since we’re not necessarily each a century old. We may not have each personally experienced the LMT life for the past 100 years. With that said, we’ve both been educated and practicing since the early 2000s. Our educators and mentors had been instructing us on their past education and experiences of their 20 plus years before. The point that I’m leading to is that within the last 40 years, or so, of massage therapy history, there has been a public and professional leap in respect and regulation.

LMTs of all ages, experience, and educational backgrounds are witnessing a generation of professionals flooding into the field who have been required to complete anywhere from 500 to 2100 hours of education and, in most cases, had to complete a licensing examination before registering for their state/provincial license to practice. There is a wide range of practitioners who are licensed now under the category of Massage and Bodywork Therapists. Most states have a requirement of continuing education which needs to be met to renew their license to practice during each renewal period. This is where MMI comes in!

Massage Mastery Institute is focusing on continuing education for Licensed Massage Therapists who want to thrive and strive to learn more, be more, do more. Tara and I are hand selecting quality instructors to create the best courses that will support the historical upswing of respect and integrity. We promise to guide professionals to CE courses that will be useful, engaging, inspiring, and FUN! Continuing education isn’t just about fulfilling a requirement, it’s about growth – it’s about gathering as peers to elevate this amazing profession together! #NeverStopLearning
